The objective
Develop a top-down executive view of terminal performance across the company, sponsored by the CFO and informed by the operational knowledge gained while establishing a shared terminal analytics service.
My contribution
I served as BI product owner in the corporate reporting initiative, contributed to Power BI dashboard and KPI design, and helped coordinate user introduction and training.
The approach
The team used knowledge from terminal data modelling to focus the executive reporting component. Dashboard design included terminal-level filtering and drill-down views. This work also helped shape a roadmap for extending reporting further down into terminal operations.
Implementation
Delivery proceeded in phases: one week for requirements, one week for technical solution selection, two weeks for technical implementation, and two weeks for reporting and analytics development. At week six, the CFO began using the new reporting alongside the existing reports. After a further two weeks, the CFO switched to using the new reporting exclusively for this purpose. Ongoing support and enhancements continued over an 11-month initiative.
Results and handover
The dashboard was in operational use before my departure and had replaced the previous reporting for the CFO's use. The initiative connected local operational analytics knowledge with company-wide executive reporting and a roadmap for deeper terminal integration. Detailed documentation was created throughout delivery, including comprehensive training and handover materials for the CFO and the team.
